This is my contribution to “Would You Like Chocolate With That?” for this week.
Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding
4 beaten eggs
1 1/4 cups chocolate milk
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/2 tsp cinnamon
4 cups dry bread cubes (whatever you like: french or regular)
1/3 cup (or however much you like) chocolate chips or chunks (I like semi-sweet or dark)
optional: 1/2 cup chopped pecans
In a large bowl beat together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. In an ungreased 2-quart baking dish toss together bread cubes and chocolate chips; pour egg mixture over bread and chips.
Bake uncovered in a 350 degree oven for 40-45 minutes, or until puffed and a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool slightly. Best served warm with or without a sauce of your choice!
