Day Four

July 14

We packed our bags Monday morning and said a sad good-bye to Gleesons. We had a picture taken with Mary Gleeson to remember her by.

When all were ready, the bus took off for Cleggan, where we were to connect with the Ferry for the Island of Inishbofin. We arrived about 2 pm to beautiful views, including this one of the ruined castle.

We pulled around to the “back” door to unload the van. Well, no, really we didn’t. We walked up from the pier, about a mile. Our bags rode up to the back door. We have the room whose window is just to the right of the open door.

We had a lovely walk with the ocean on our left and green fields full of flowers, sheep, and goats on our right.

Once settled in we took a nice long nap! We wanted to be ready for a long night as we were warned about “Bofin time” in advance. In addition to Men of Worth, the Inishbofin Ceilidh Band was scheduled for that night’s entertainment.

We wandered off to bed at the usual 2ish in the morning, content, as we had no morning bus to catch and therefore no alarm to set. Wahooo!
