Day One

Friday July 11, 2008

We boarded the bus at about 9:15 this morning and took off for the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare.

Just to prove I was really there…

From the Cliffs we cruised on over to see the Burren cultural center film. While there we had a bite of luch in the Burren Tea Rooms.

Another “quick” bus ride took us onto the Burren where we stopped birefly to see this

Which looked like this…

I also took plenty of pictures of the landscape and flowers and such. I’m just not going to take the time to post them right now…It’s 2:00 am and we’ve had a full day and evening. We’ve re-located to Roscommon, to the Gleeson Guest House, which is awesome. We had a lovely treat of tea and scones on our arrival and a superb dinner at about eight o-clock. Somewhere after Nine the music started and went on till “half twelve” as they say here. (12:30 am)

Musicans included James and Donny (Men of Worth) plus a sizeable variety of my tour-mates, and even James’ brother. Tomorrow night, they’re planning to have an accordian here so Jim can play too!

Night all, and until next time…may the luck of the Irish be with you.

  1. How fun that Jim will be able to play too! Do you have a video recorder to tape it??
    Sleep well!

  2. What a wonderful first day! Thanks for sharing so many pictures. Can’t wait for more. 🙂

  3. It looks cool and wonderful there. Sigh. Tea. Ireland, and cooler weather. I am jealous, no matter how unbecoming it is.
