“I” Is For…..

Instruments

At our house, music is very important to us all. We all play something. Several play assorted somethings. We have collected a few instruments over the years. These are those we could readily lay our hands on, there are, or have been more. Son 1 took his trumpet with him (finally) and the Auto-Harp is buried somewhere in the office. Various rhythym instruments are somewhere, we just can’t think of where, right now.

Below are the violin, the flute, the tambourine, the penny whistle, and the bodhran (celtic drum).

Of course, we have our lovely old piano, a converted player-piano made in 1930, and Hubby Dearest’s current keyboard. (there have been many over the years)

Finally, we have three, yes three, accordians. The black one is Hubby’s from his childhood, the white one is mine, from days long ago, and the little red one belongs to friends who let us borrow it long-term some years ago. Now that the boys are all too big for it, we really need to get it back to them.

  1. Wow! What a musical family! You could be your own band…or are you already? 😉

  2. That’s really neat. I have my grandfather’s fiddle, but I wonder what happened to the accordian?

  3. An outstanding collection! My house has a much more mundane assortment- guitars, flute, keyboard. I keep looking at fiddles, but there is no way I can possibly take on another hobby that requires practice, at least not until I retire.
