Knitting Daily

In spite of the lack of posts, I want to assure you that I am knitting daily. I’m just not getting far each day. I’m also not getting photos daily, which may just have some connection to the previous fact, ie, not getting far.

I started, and finished a pair of fingerless mittens using a new pattern. I’ve been wanting to try one with a gussetted thumb for a while now, so Sunday evening, while sitting in my new class, I cast on for some mitts using worsted weight yarn and some guess work. Our poor speaker was lost in late-plane land so I got through the 15 rows of ribbing and 7 rows of stockinette before I decided I’d better chill until I found a pattern. On my return home, at 10:30 pm, I combed Ravelry until I finally found what I was after. Needless to say, by that time, no more Sunday night knitting occurred, due to a lack of Sunday night!

I found Fingerless Mitts by Janelle Schlossman to be just the ticket. If you’re in Ravelry I apologize for the lack of the link, I just don’t have time right now to chase it down again. She has 34 stitches compared to my 36, but that’s no big deal, and I was, thankfully, just at the point where she started her gusset. I love it. This gusset thumb thing is great. I may be done with the other, thumbless mittens I have been making since September….they are fine, these are “better”. He he, I sound so judgemental.

The new class I’m taking is called Perspectives. You can judge me for taking it if you want to, I’m okay with that. It’s a college level class, with lots of homework and online quizzes. It is seriously cutting into my knitting time. Now you know why my posts and my knitting are lagging.
