Almost Done

Emma’s socks are almost done. She is getting 2×2 ribbed socks in the leftover Lorna’s Laces Red Rover. One sock is ready to graft, the other is a few rows shy of grafting. Hopefully I can get them done tomorrow, but it may not happen.

This is the first week of school for us. We thought we knew exactly how that would play out, but life threw us a curve. We homeschool. This is son 4’s senior year. He was all signed up to take Physics at the local college. The book had been ordered and delivered. Class was set to begin tomorrow. Then, last Wednesday the phone rang. Hi, this is so and so from WCC, we have a message for D. The physics class is cancelled. Right. What am I supposed to do for a senior science class with less than one week to prepare? Grrr.

In addition to the fun of getting my own kid’s school underway, I am also getting a start on the math classes I teach. Today was Day One of Algebra 2, tomorrow will be Day One for Geometry and Intro to Logic. Wish me luck. I will also have students for Albegra 1 and Pre-Algebra starting in September. Oh, and did I mention I’m doing Pre-Calulus with son 4 this year? When was that appointment for getting my head examined?

And, just to add some fun to a boring full week, my eldest son and his girlfriend arrive Wednesday for a five day visit. Did I mention that we just spent the last week getting the boy’s rooms textured and painted? Ya….and now all the furniture has to be moved back in, bookshelves re-stocked, blinds and curtains re-hung, and all the white, powdery dust has to be vaccuumed, dusted, and wiped away. Knitting? What’s that?
