August SAM 4 on the Needles

Yes, Amy….I too have proof that started my SAM 4 socks for August. They are supposed to be a birthday present for a little friend of mine who is turning two. I called the grandma, got all kinds of info and measurements, consulted the charts in Sensational Knitted Socks, and cast on. After 20 rows, I am wondering if these will indeed be Emma’s socks. They seem a little small to me. This pair may instead end up as a pair for baby Annabelle, who is due to make her  appearance sometime next month. In any event, I love that I don’t have to frog them, as gifts will be needed soon anyway.

In other, less knitting related news, I re-arranged my living room yesterday. It was very much over due for a face lift and cleaning. I huffed and puffed, pulled furniture around, vacuumed, dusted, and sorted. When I thought I had an asthetically pleasing result, I called Amy to come eyeball the room and offer her critique. I love real friends, don’t you? You know, the kind who tell the truth, not what they think you want to hear. Well, she mostly liked it, mostly being the key word here. So we dragged and shoved a little more until we just plain liked it, no mostly involved. Ta da! A brand new living room, with a little corner just for my computer and knitting stuff. It looks very nice, and sooo clean. Sigh. How long will that last part last? The big round table in the center of the seating has a tendency to become a junk collector. Wish me luck.
