Knitting, Not socks

So what does a gal do when her socks are driving her nutty? Knit something else, of course. I went to Knitter’s Playground last Thursday for a little lesson on fixing my mistakes, and, well, something came home with me. How does that happen? “Something” was two skeins of Lorna’s Laces Swirl Chunky in the Purple Iris colorway. Yummy. It was also 35% off…..tell me you could resist. Right.  I cast on 21 stitches, set up a Mistake rib, and off to the movies….literally. Mistake Rib is perfect knitting for viewing.  60 inches and a day or so later, voila, a Finished Object. Not just any FO either, this one looks suspiciously like a Christmas present in waiting. Wahoo. I still had yarn left, so….out come the size 10 circs, and a little person’s hat was under way. The hat got to go to a class with me on Monday night, so it got done quickly also. Awesome yarn. The merino/silk combination has a sheen to it which really sets off the great colors. Feels good in the hand as well. I realize it sounds like I’m an ad for Lorna’s Laces these days, but I promise, I’m not on any payroll. It’s just that I’m learning to love good yarn. I like other good yarn too, really.
