Yawn

It’s nearly 11 pm and I’m beat. We went away for a few days to a house on the Russian River, just about 12 miles inland from Jenner.  It was nice to get out of here, ditch all expectations, and just relax. I brought my knitting, of course, and honestly, its about the only thing I did besides listen to music and watch Poirot. I had a new sock pattern I wanted to test out, to see if it might just be “the one” for my sockapalooza socks. It is the Lilac sock by Jeanie Townsend. I cast on one sock, did the ribbed cuff and two pattern repeats in a few hours of alone time on Sunday. I like it so far. I think I’ll have to complete the sock to tell if it is “the one” though. I am knitting it in a solid blue, in the KnitPicks Gloss, merino and silk blend. I think it will look good in the new Shepherd Sock Red multi I just ordered. If this isn’t  “it”,  the search will continue. Good thing there is still plenty of time before August 2!

In other knitting news, I also worked on the Hearts and Stars blankie, which is now about 1/2 way through the second set of charts. I like it more all the time. In a way, its kind of like knitting an endless washcloth! The Estonian scarf did not see much action in recent days. Remember, black laceweight is NOT the project for KUIE!
