News, news, news!

Okay. I am soo excited. I finally found out who my sock pal is. No one told me how to do it, so its just lucky I went looking for a way to find out. I can hardly calm down long enough to to do some serious yarn and pattern shopping. I need a good combination. It wouldn’t do to have a gorgeous pattern, which gets lost in the yarn choice. Ah, what to choose, what to choose? In the meantime, I’ve got a new progect on the needles. I started a cotton baby blanket from my new book, Adorable Knits For Tots, by Zoe Mellor. It’s the Hearts and Stars pattern, which I am knitting in the new Cotton Ease, in  Lime. 9 rows of seed stitch, 167 stitches per row, ugh. But now I’m into the first set of charts, and it’s getting a bit more fun. This is, without question, the biggest thing I’ve knitted in quite a while. In fact, I don’t recall having made anything which calls for 7 skeins before. Just goes to show how much of a knitting wimp I really am.

The Estonian Lace scarf is coming along nicely, with almost 1/4 of the total length of the first lace pattern completed. Since I can only knit on this project when there is plenty of light and when I have all my wits about me, progress will continue to be slow. I’m off to do some Socka Pal shopping. Wish me luck.
